The Party!
We’re so excited to celebrate Matt’s 40th birthday in one of our favorite places on Earth,
San Miguel de Allende!

In true Pennebaker style, this won’t be your average birthday party. We’re planning a laid-back, joy-filled evening with good food, great music, and even better company. Set at a private villa with some of the best views in the city, the night will be all about celebrating Matt in true SMA style. Mezcal flowing, music playing, kids laughing, and everyone enjoying the moment.

The Vibe
This isn’t a formal affair—think elevated fiesta with a relaxed feel. There will be:
-
Great food from a local chef (tacos, ceviche, churros—yes please!)
-
An open bar + mezcal tasting
-
Live mariachi music to kick off the night
-
A few surprises to celebrate Matt
-
Kid-friendly fun (with help on-site so you can relax)
What to Wear
Dress code is “casual chic”—something that feels festive but still comfortable.
-
For Women: Think flowy dresses, jumpsuits, stylish sandals or block heels, maybe a fun hat or statement earrings.
-
For Men: Lightweight button-downs, polos, chinos or nice shorts, and clean sneakers or loafers. Leave the jackets at home—you won’t need them.
Evenings can be breezy, so bring a light layer just in case!
Location
Salida Real a Queretaro 87
The party will be held at Casa Pedro Vargas, a private villa in San Miguel de Allende, located near El Mirador.
Getting There
-
Uber is widely used in SMA and a great option for getting to and from the party.
-
Green taxis are also available but usually cost a little more than Uber.
-
If you're staying nearby, you can easily walk—SMA is super pedestrian-friendly.
-
Parking is limited, so we recommend leaving the car behind if possible.
We can’t wait to celebrate 40 incredible years of Matt, with mezcal in hand, music in the air, and all of you there!
See you in San Miguel!
